"He is with the right trainer, in the right colours, with the right pedigree and so he has to be a horse to note for the new season as a result".

As a gelding, there are no stallion prospects to try and plot, so his connections can proceed without any trepidation and I would imagine that he will be given a test in Group 3 company at some point after this performance.

"She is still showing signs of considerable improvement and I’d have to argue at this stage that she is the best 2-year-old filly in Europe after this Prix Morny performance".

"If there was to be a “best of the French” category for the 2-year-old fillies, I think she would now have to be in those conversations"

"There have been a few false dawns for Wimbledon Hawkeye supporters, most notably when he won in the US around this time last year, but I really think he has now turned the corner and matured into the horse he always threatened to be".

"I think there will be more improvement to come and eye-catching entries in the Prix Morny and the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere would suggest that his connections feel the same".

"If there is a future Group 1 winner in this 5 runner field, I think it is most likely to be him".

The bare result was enough to make me put a question mark next to this form in my notebook and whilst Mazzala may improve against better horses next time out, he may well be a shorter price than he should be because of the series of 1s next to his name.
