Prix Pride of Kildare 2025

Runners in the Prix Pride if Kildare at Auteuil, 1st October

Prix Pride of Kildare

Auteuil - 01/10/2025 - “Tres Souple 4,0”

3YO “Inédits” Hurdle - 3,600m - €26,680

4:22.85 (Réduction KM 1:13.10) - 12.91s slower than standard.

Macho Man (Gab Leenders). Sat behind the face but always travelling, perhaps helped by coming to the stands side rail, but appeared to have plenty in hand on this field when pulling clear to win by 5-lengths after the last. A good ride by Theo Dumouch on a horse that knew his job. Ivanhowe gelding, half-brother to Invictus Machin (Gavin Cromwell). Wore a Tongue-Tie. SP 27 on PMU.

“Interesting horse given how professional he was and the fact that he has won a Prix Pride of Kildare, but he jumped better than most of his rivals and was ideally placed. Surely there are others in behind who will eventually improve past him”

Feel Gut (Da Silva). Wore a hood. Always relatively prominent and raced largely alongside the winner, Ludovic Philipperon clearly had the plan to come to the stands rail but didn’t have the speed to get there. Switched back inside and then ran on to finish 2nd after the last. Dschingis Secret half-brother to Blooming and Hipsters, Dam is a Monsun mare. Should take a big step forward from this and likely to be capable of winning a 3YO hurdle over the late autumn season. SP 33 on PMU

Palmois (Nicolle). Probably traveled better than anything else as far as the 3rd last. Just appeared to lack the tactical speed in the closing stages before keeping on again. Looks to be straight forward and I think he will almost certainly improve for a slightly softer surface. Moises Has gelding. SP 8.9 on PMU

“The horse that I would take out of the race, looks like a typical patient project from Francois Nicolle”.

Forty Fifty (George & Zetterholm). The talking horse in the race, sent off favourite on the PMU (4.2 SP). Raced in mid-division but shaped like a big immature type, having to be nudged back into the bridle after several of his obstacles and given a reminder after the 5th flight. Kept on well to be fair to him, challenging away from the rail probably not helping his cause. Very “Jazzy Matty” vibes from this performance, but will need to mature. Kapgarde gelding, has the likes of For Fun, Fuisse and Full of Gold in his immediate pedigree. Wore a Tongue-Tie.

Full Falcon (George & Zetterholm). Finished 5th but was perhaps the more interesting of the 2 from the yard. Felix de Giles rode, with a hood on for debut. Sat behind the pace and perfectly comfortable when jumping the 3rd last. Asked to close approaching the 2nd last but kept wide and not helped when the tiring leader landed awkwardly jumping that flight. Landed on terms jumping the last but just lacked the turn-of-foot to go with them, finishing a “one paced” 5th along the rail. A Prince Gibraltar gelding, he is a half-brother to Les Cerfs Volante, Grand-Dam was a Listed winner over obstacles. SP 5.6 on PMU.

“In a year’s time he will make a superb Novice chasing prospect. Traveled nicely and just shaped like a developing horse who is perhaps a little short of speed for a race like this”.

Moment De Grace (Mele). One of 3 runners in the MacLennan colours, but the shortest price of the 3 at an SP of 10. The only one of the 3 to finish. Jumped big and although ridden forward was beaten when landing steeply at the 2nd last. Showed some promise and will hopefully improve his hurdling technique. Bande gelding and a half-brother to 4 winners including Vif D’Esprit and Analifet. Finished tired but having been keen and jumped exuberantly, this was probably slightly better than it looked.
