All good things must come to an end an this Sunday marked the end of the summer carnival in Deauville. As usual it has been 4-weeks of high quality and competitive racing and whilst it is sad to see it come to an end, the good news is that it means the autumn season at Paris Longchamp is just around the corner. The ratings for the races on the PSF track can be found below. There isn't too much to take from these, other than the fact that the last race needs to be treated with some caution. This was a Class 4 contest for Amateur riders and although the overall time was fair, the race was run at an odd tempo and the larger weights that the horses carried has affected the figures they have produced, for all that the winner dictated under a clever ride. We are probably 6-weeks away from what would be called the official "All-Weather" season but these 4-weeks in Deauville do offer a useful insight for the winter season ahead.
